Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cant get out of neutral, yth2448, neutral position

Question
I have a Husqvarna 24hp B&S 48" riding lawn mower (YTH2448)
and I can't seem to get it out of neutral. It starts- I put it in gear- and nothing.

Check, and see if the little rod in the rear of the mower is in neutral position. It should be behind the mower sticking out of the back plate below the seat. If not look behind the plate, this is used for pushing the mower. Have you checked to see if your drive belt, broke, or slipped off the pulley, either in the front, or the rear? If it is still on is it chewed-up or having a great deal of slack when in the drive position?.........Tom
