Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Roper 8-26 Snowblower transmission, friction disc, shift rod

Question
I recently came into possession of an older Roper 8 horsepower 26" snowblower.  It runs fine right now but when in the neutral position, transmission appears to be catching reverse as the unit will wander backwards.  Two questions, 1) How can I adjust the transmission to correct this problem. 2) Can you give me a little history on the Brand?  I can't find anything on the company much less parts/manuals/etc.  It looks like it was well built and will probably last awhile, but if I can't get replacement parts I don't know if it is worth keeping in the long run.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Answer
Have you removed the lower sheet metal housing to check the friction disc?  There should be an adjustment on the shift rod or an ajustment near the friction disc.

Look for a sticker on the lower portion of the blower or even under the handle.  There should be a sticker with the model number one.
