Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kawasaki FB460V 12.5 hp. (NO Spark???), kawasaki fb460v, electric clutch

Question

I have a 12.5 kawasaki motor on a  44"Toro walk behind that currently will not start as a result of none or weak spark. With previous research I had 1st replace ignition coil. Started up on second pull and ran great then would not start again after my next attempt two days later. I then replaced igniter( not cheep for a tiny item) and will still not start. Motor does not have electric start/ battery option, however it has a stator under flywheel.Could that be a bad item in the circuit that prevents it from getting sufficient spark????? I am not sure if the stator is in place to accomodate an electric start option if required.????

Are stators used for charging battery only?? I have also tested sparkplug cap (screw in type)and there is no continuity from screw tip to metal plug clip holder. I wouls assume it would have continuity to generate spark???? Even in that condition i still get intermediate spark conditions.

I rate myself as rather handy and fix everything i can get my hands on, however after spending a $150 and a pile of time and a thousand pulls i am starting to bet frustrated.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
The stator under the flywheel is running your electric clutch.  There is a safety system on your mower.  The unit has to be in neutral with the clutch turned off to start the start the engine.  The problem may be in the PTOs switch or the safety module located under the panel on the handle where the throttle control is.  I hope this helps good luck on your project.
