Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda harmony 215 lawnmower, air passages, full tank

Question
The lawnmower has been in the shed for about 2 years and it won't start.  It has oil and it looks clean and it has a full tank of gas.  Is there something special I should do to bring it back to life.

Answer
If the mower has been sitting for two years without running even without fuel the fuel system will still need to be cleaned. that will mean cleaning tank the lines and carburetor.  The carburetor will need to be disassembled and cleaned internally using wire to clean all the little air and fuel passages. when you have it apart put a carburetor kit in the carburetor and all new gaskets.  put fresh fuel in the mower and try to start.

the reason being even if the mower was ran dry unless the carburetor bowl was removed there was still fuel left in the carburetor. in two years time it would turn varnish and when new fuel was put in the varnish would then washed into the fuel and air passages it all needs to be cleaned.  Good Luck on your project
