Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): A rare trimmer (need to know the name), washing machine repair, weed eater

Hey,

Back in the 70s my brother and I lived by a lawn and washing machine repair shop.  On one day the guy's shop, had a new weed eater/trimmer.  Since that time I have never seen one like it.  The trimmer had the engine mounted on the "shroud" and a carb and gas tank in a hollow tube that was the handle. I think it was green.  Do you know who manufactured these?  I know this question is not your ordinary question.
If you don't know could you refer this question on to someone else to take a stab at it.

   It was most likely a crosley brand They MFD a Head Mounted type that sounds alot like what your describing to me.
tube Mount Fuel and Carb system.
Unfortunatly They ceased Manufacture In 1973 when demand for this type of model ceased and the newer rear mounting was cheaper and more cost effective
