Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD 111 throttle & choke linkage, unused hole, proper speed

Question
Hi, I was given a JD 111.  I'm trying to get it working. Engine runs if I control throttle & choke by hand.  All linkages were missing.  Ordered new parts.  I think I have the throttle and choke rods connected correctly, but I also have 2 springs (one short about 1" long and 1/2" in diameter, one about 8" long, 1/8" in diameter) I don't know where they go.  Choke will close, but nothing opens it.  What connects the throttle control to the throttle/governor rod?

Answer
Charles,

Boths springs are added in the parts for a reason.
use one to attach it to where there is an unused hole on the choke valve connect the other end to the governor side and that should do it
the spring is the choke return the 1" Spring is for the choke to governor assy the 8" spring is normally used on a Larger series of tractor hold on to it because you never know when you may need an extra spring.
When you choke the carb the spring will stretch when your started and running and you release the choke the spring retracts opening the throat for full intake pressure the governor is controlled by the choke and when the engine does start and you unchok the governor will pull back allowing the proper speed controls
