Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Scotts mower wont start, kohler engine, key switch

Question
I have a Scott's lawn tractor S1642 with the 16 hp kohler engine which has been great for 8 years. After sitting up for 2 weeks outside (with the seat up so it would not hold water)It would not start. The engine did not turn over nor did the solenoid click like it has in the past when the solenoid was bad. I checked the battery and it was fully charged. I then jumped the solenoid(with a screwdriver) and the engine cranked. Do you think it's the solenoid, ignition switch or something else.

               thanks

Answer
Something else.  I would start with the seat switch, test it with a continuity meter to see if good.  Then the PTO, remember the PTO is a double pole double throw switch. Meaning that it is two switches i one.  Then the brake switch and the key switch.  If all test OK replace the solenoid.
