Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Roper lift link, ayp mower, roper

Question
I have an old Roper 36" riding mower (model L1252BR) that has a broken lift link (I believe that's what they call the lever that engages and disengages the blades). It's a left-side link. Do you know where I can locate a replacement? I have looked everywhere. Would I be better off just going to a machine shop to have a new one made?

Thank you,

David

Answer
AYP, American Yard Products, built your mower.  There should be a sticker on the rear of the mower, usually under the seat or fenders.  This will have the AYP mower model number on it.  The mower model number is needed to find the part number.

Let me know if this helps.
