Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): RANSOMES AUTO-CERTES, kawasaki engine, intake filter

have above lawnmower MK7A REGno DD3981, VILLIERS ENGno F12-02-02/63478, stops after 10 minutes running, no spark at plug when eng warm,coil checked out and seems to be ok,an electronic ignition module (uim100)found to be fitted,suspect this to be problem,do you know where replacement part can be sought or is the problem somewhere else,any advise greatly apprecieated,thanks bert

Is this a Kawasaki engine or a Honda?  In both cases, no spark when the engine is hot is usually a bad coil or some other electrical component.  As far as the engine running for 10 minutes or so and then sputtering or dying.  That usually indicates your fuel system is not venting.  Check the fuel cap vent.  Check the intake filter worthy in-line filter.  Sometimes the filter is at the gas shutoff.

As far as obtaining parts for this unit.  I would suggest identifying the engine and going online to find the parts the engine will have a different model and serial number than the mower.  If this is a two cycle engine.  It more than likely is a JLO. These engines are no longer produced finding parts will be very difficult.  Ransome is still in business.  They are owned by Textron, I think.  Hope this helps
