Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 19.5 craftsman, question pool, valve seat

Question
I had bad compression in 1 cyl. pulled the head and the ring around the valve is loose my question is do I get the cycl off the motor

Answer
Hello Tim:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. The Problem is a Bad Valve Seat (the ring you are speaking of). Depending on the Manufacturer of the Engine, Usually a Mower Engine Cylinder cannot be Removed from the Crankcase. The Valve Seat will have to be Replaced. This Requires Special Valve Seat Installation Tools. If the Area Around the Valve Seat is Worn too Much, then you May Not be Able to have the Seat Replaced and New Engine will be your Only Option.  If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
