Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kawasaki mower no spark, throttle levers, kawasaki motor

Question
I have an older John Deere walk behind mower that has a 17 hp Kawasaki motor on it. we didn't use it over the winter went to start it and it has no spark. I replaced the coil and went through all of the wiring, and relays that I could find but still no spark. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Answer
If it was running fine when you stored it and now it doesn't the problem happened in storage.  That usually indicates that a rodent took up resistance for the  winter.  Look under the panel on the handle or wherever the choke and throttle levers are.  There is usually a safety module there some place.  Check the clutch and PTO switch.  Wither you have to replace them or test them individually. Some of the switches cannot just be jumped.  Did you remove the relay and use an Ohm Meter to see if the diodes are only allowing current to run one way? You have to know the relay they are not all the same.  Look at the wiring schematic to see which way the current flows.  Hope this helps.
