Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Troy Bilt TB20CS, starter rope, troy bilt

Question
I read your answer regarding replacing the starter rope on the TB90BC and found it very helpful.  I have the spring in the recess and the pull attached to the spring. Where I am stumped is the part about turning the pulley until it can turn no more.  With it attached to the spring, the tension is so high that I can barely turn it at all.  Did I miss something or is my model different?  Thank you for the help.

Answer
Hello Jeffrey:

From your Description it Sounds like the Spring was Installed Backwards. If Installed Backwards you have the Problem you Described. Make Sure the Coil of the Spring is so it will Coil when the Pulley is Turned. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
