Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Lawn Tractor steering slipping, craftsman lawn tractor, model numbers

Question
I have a Craftsman Lawn Tractor and the steering is slipping.  I have replaced the spindle and the gear that it goes into and it still slips and makes a popping noise.  It is worse when we try to turn right than it does when we turn left.  What else is there that could be causing this?  Thank you

Answer
Hello Monica:

Since you have Replaced the Spindle and Gear, then this is Usually Caused by a Worn Steering Shaft Bushing. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker or Tag on the Body. Thanks.
