Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Weed Eater GTI trimmer low power, weed eater, drive cable

Question
I have a 19 year old Weed Eater brand GTI trimmer which recently I've had issues with very low power.  From one start to the next one day while working in the yard at full throttle it wouldn't hardly rotate the trimmer head.  This is a very powerful trimmer as it is the blade version and in the past has  a history of eating up the heads by chewing the chord discharge away.  I inspected the exhaust, put in a new air filter, checked the spark plug, oiled the drive cable, and found no improvement.  I then pulled the intank filter out and it improved somewhat and seems like I'm getting about 25% power or so.  Suggestions? I was thinking I should rebuilt the carb.  Where can I get a rebuild kit?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Tony:

Are the Jug/Cylinder Bolts Tight? What is the Engine Compression? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the W. Then Select WeedEater. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers. Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing. You can Purchase the Parts from this Site or from your Local Small Engine Service Center. If the Carburetor Breakdown is Not Shown at this Site, then I Require the OEM (Walbro, Zama, ect) and the Model Numbers Off the Carburetor. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Carburetor and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
