Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): l120 john deere lawn tractor, john deere lawn tractor, john deere lawn

Question
this mower cuts grass as it should but after a little while it will not pull. i noticed that fan on top differential has a few blades missing.  belt replaced and i do not think it is slipping.  could something in rear end be trouble.  i have found no place to check oil and i have no book on this mower.

Answer
Hello Rayborn:

From your Description it Sounds like the Transaxle is Heating Up and the Fluid is Thinning too Much to Operate the Transaxle Properly. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers (L120) and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Select the Power Train File. On the Transaxle is an OEM Identification Plate. Send me the Information Off of This Plate, Please. With this Information, I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist You. The Few Blades Missing from the Fan May be Allowing the Fluid to Heat Up or the Fluid May be Low and Heating Up. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
