Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): john deere stx38 hydro vapor lock, john deere stx38, kohler command

Question
I did complete tune-up (spark plug, oil, oil filter, gas filter)now after mowing for awhile maybe 10 minutes or more the mower dies. I noticed the gas filter is completely dry, then after afew minutes gas filter will fill up with gas just as fast as it went dry. Start the mower up & begin this same process all over again. What do you feel is in need of repair? Mower & model listed below:
John Deere STX38 Hydro
Kohler Command 13
Family:SKH398U1G2RB
Model:CV13S
Spec.No:21509
Displ(cc):398
Serial:#2613604802

Answer
Hello Matt:

Check the Gas Tanks Cap and Ensure it is Venting. Check the In Tanks Pickup. On Some JD Model Mowers the Pickup Tube will Collapse and cause this Problem. If this Engine has a Vacuum Operated Fuel Pump, then Replace the Spring Style Hose Clamps with the Screw Style Hose Clamps. The Spring Style Clamps Weaken and Allow the Loss of Vacuum and Cause the Problem you Described. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
