Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD L118 Transmission, tension spring, silver rod

Question
I recently removed the mover deck to replace the blades.  I have replaced the mover deck.  The mover will not move when I depress the gas pedal.  I can push the mover when the silver rod  on the back is pushed all the way in.

Did I do something to the transmission?

Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
Hello Mike:

From your Description it Sounds like the Clutch Idler Spring May be Off/Broken or the Belt has Jumped Off the Clutch Idler or One of the Other Pulleys. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers (L118) and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Select the Transmission File. Select the Belt Drive and Idlers Folder. Make Sure the Belt is Still on the Idlers and Pulleys. Make Sure the Tension Spring is Still Connected to the Clutch Idler Arm. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
