Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sabre hydrostat squeal, hydrostat, belt dressing

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2000 Sabre 14.5 hp hydrostat that squeals when operating coming from the hydrostat.  Can I just add a fluid to it to make it quit?  Or is it probably a more serious problem?  If adding a fluid, where and how do you do it? If I have to buy a replacement hydrastat, how much would that cost?

ANSWER: Hello Craig:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Again Craig:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H and Enter the Model Numbers (Sabre)
and Click Find. Then Select your Model (Sabre 1438GS) from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Select the "Power Train (Hydro)" File. Now Select the "Transaxle" File. Enlarge the Image if Required. The Vent (#7) Should Turn Off and Oil can be Added to the Transaxle. Is Belt Slipping on the Transaxle Pulley. Spray the Ground Drive Belt with "Belt Dressing" and if the Noise Persists, then Add 1/2 Qt. Operate the Transaxle. Use SAE 30 Engine Oil. If the Squeal is Still Present, then Add Another 1/2 Qt. If the Squeal is Still Present, then you can Try Another 1/2 Quart, but Usually if the 1 Qt Did Not Eliminate the Squeal, then a Valve in the Transaxle is Sticking and the Transaxle will have to be Opened and Repaired. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
