Buick/Olds: car stereo, buick service, pioneer sales

i have a 1993 buick regal grand sport. i went and bought a pioneer head unit. how do i know what wires do what. the wires are cut so i have to for get the wiring harness. can you help me with the wire and what color means what.?

the best bet for this is to either go online and look for a wiring diagram for this model, or buy a manual, which (chilton) has the wiring layout.
I am not familiar with this particular setup. Your local Buick service dept. also has the wiring diagram...normally they will give you a copy.

ACTUALLY... red is hot, white or black is ground...the speakers use a ground wire and normally one with a green stripe...don't be afraid to experiment with the speaker wires...get it right and they will work, get it wrong and your sound won't be right...keep trying. also go to a Pioneer sales place (walMart?) look at the instructions there.
