Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): drive belt falls off, sears riding mower, model numbers

Question
The drive belt keeps falling off of my older Sears riding mower at the pulley off of the motor. I happens if I take off too quickly or try to shift gears.

Answer
Hello Robert:

Is the Belt Guide Still In Place at the Engine Pulley? Is it Set Correctly? There Should be Only About 1/4" Space Between the Guide and Pulley if the Guide is Properly Installed. Some of these Guides are a Bolt or Rod and Others are a Flat Plate. Both are Attached to the Frame Near the Engine Pulley and Most Guides are Adjustable. To View a Breakdown of this Unit Go to this Site Addy, http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Search. From this Page you can View Diagrams or Parts Lists for you Equipment. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
