Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler CV22S oil leak, blown head gasket, crankcase breather

Question
I have oil coming from both the vent in my fuel pump and also from a lower shaft which seems to connect to either the choke or throttle.  These both started recently and I'm wondering if the crankcase breather might be clogged?  If so, where is it and how do I clean and/or repair this?  This is on my commercial Great Dane Super Surfer and I desperately need this fixed....I cannot afford the down time.

Answer
Hello Darrell:

This can be the Crankcase Breather or a Blown Head Gasket (if an OHV Engine). If an OHV Engine and the Head Gasket Blows Between the Cylinder and the Push Tube Galley, then Compression Enters the Crankcase and Causes the Problem you are Having. I Suggest you Inspect and Clean the Crankcase Breather, if the Crankcase Breather is Clean, then Check for a Blown Head Gasket. On Some Models the Crankcase Breather is Located in the Cylinder Head. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Catalog you Wish to View. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
