Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): intermittent Spark, ceramic insulator, honda gx160

Question
I have a Honda GX160, that I am unable to start.  In checking for spark I get intermittent spark when grounding the plug.  However, I get good spark when I hold the plug close to a ground.  What would you suspect is the problem?

Answer
Hello Brian:

Have you Tried a New Plug? Send me the Complete Model Numbers (example: GC160 PHA, GC160 PXA, GC160 QBC and ect), Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. From your Description it Sounds like the Spark Plug had a Bad Ceramic Insulator or the Ign Module or Coil May be Bad and Require Replacing. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
