Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 3.5 briggs stays high idle, question pool, appropriate boxes

Question
I have a little wonder edger with a Briggs 3.5 model # 091232 type1353E1 it will rev up to high idle and will not come back done? Any ideas  thanks

Answer
Hello Michael:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Is this a 91232 Model Engine? If Yes, then; Is it Just a High Idle or Does it Rev to Full Throttle? If Revs to Full Throttle, then the Governor Control Spring has Jumped Off or Broken, the Governor Vane May be Sticking/Binding. Check the Linkage from the Governor Vane to the Carburetor and the Spring from the Governor Link to the Throttle Control. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (XXXXXX) and Type Numbers (XXXX) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO. Then Select Download PDF. The Governor Valve is Shown on Page 6 of 18. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
