Suzuki: 89 samurai, steering wheel, warning light

hi i recently bought a 1989 samuria 1.3 and everything is perfect with the car other than every time i turn left a warning light comes up on the dash!! what could this be or mean?? any help would be appreciated

The question is whether the light turns on whenever the wheel is turned, even if the vehicle is not moving, which would indicate it has something to do with either the steering wheel, steering column, or steering gear under the hood.
Check to see if the engine has to be running or not, even though the vehicle isn't moving.

The other is if the vehicle has to be moving.  This might indicate that cornering forces are causing something to shift, and make/break a connection.  This can usually be found by moving stuff under the dash or under the hood.
