Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda gc160 5.0 hp ohc on presure washer, honda gc160, arinet

Question
I received this pressure washer as a gift and does not work at all. I took the
pump off and then when i barely pull the cord on the engine out to start it, it
immediately hits something and stops dead. It feels like it is hitting a broken
rod or something. I took it into a shop and they said it was shot and not
worth having them fix it. I thought If I do it with my son as a summer project
we could get it going, assuming parts won't cost to much.

Answer
Hello Pedro:

I Suggest you Purchase a Service Manual for the Engine. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Select the Engine File. Then Scroll to your Engine and Select it. Then Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. I Suggest you Disassemble and Clean the Engine Parts. Then Inspect and Make a List of the Parts you think you are Going to Require to do the Repair. Then Get the Part Numbers from the Site Addy I Provided. Check the Prices at the Same Site and then Go to this Site;  http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the H. Then Select Honda. Then Start Looking up the Parts and Compare Prices. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
