Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Gas Weedeater, wheel bearing grease, proper directions

Question
QUESTION: I have a gas weedeater that the pull string only pulls out a inch. I took apart pull string and it's moving freely off the weedeater but will not work on the weedeater to start it . It was working fine. Is it frozen up history now or is there a way I might fix it ?

ANSWER: Hello Tina:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Will the Engine Turn with the Spark Plug Removed? Remove the Muffler; Looking Inside the Exhaust Port, is the Piston or Cylinder Scratched or Gouged? If Yes, then the Engine Is Trashed. If the Piston and Cylinder Look like Glass, then the Engine should be Fine and there is Another Cause for the Binding. Thanks.

Hello Again Tina:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Some of these Units have to be Serviced with Grease. The Trimmer Head Shaft/Cable is Usually Removed from the Tube and then Lightly Greased and Re-Installed Into the Tube. With the Model Numbers I can See the Unit in Question and give you the Proper Directions to Prevent this Problem from Occurring Again. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tina:

Thanks for the Model Numbers. Unfortuniately there are No Breakdowns for this Unit Online. I Suggest you Remove the Trimmer Head Drive Cable and Lightly Grease it with Wheel Bearing Grease as you Re-Insert it Into the Housing/Tube. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks Again.

Best Wishes and Good Luck
