Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stalling Stihl Chainsaw, air leak, hello john

Question
Hi John,
I am having trouble with my Stihl 025 16" chainsaw. It is about 5yrs old and has really worked great most of the time. The problem is the saw stalls when I tilt it forward. If I bring it back towards me it will run with full power again. I have replaced the fuel filter thinking it was dirty and not allowing enough fuel to get through it. Was thinking maybe an air leak or sticky float?
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.
John

Answer
Hello John:

Is the Tank Filter Able to Move when the Saw is Tilted? Empty the Gas Tank and Watch the Filter while you Tilt the Saw. Does the Filter Fall so as to be in the Gas at All Times? The Carburetor Pump May Require Resetting or May Not be Seating Properly. The Pump Needle is Set so it is Just Touching the Diaphragm. I Require the OEM (Walbro, Zama, ect) and the Model Numbers Off the Carburetor. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Carburetor and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
