Question
Hi
I have been very kindly given a rotavator to help me down my allotment.  It is fitted with a briggs & Stratton engine model 80202-0413-03-81110203.  Unfortunately it didnt come with a manual so I have no idea how I even start it !! and because I dont know how to start it I dont know if it works.  Do you know anything about this type engine and where i may get a operating manual, I have trawled around the net but havent found anything.  Any help would be very appreciated.

Answer
Hello Karen:

You can Obtain an Owners and Repair Manual from the Following Site Addys; 1- Outdoor Distributors - http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ @ 1-877-707-2787; 2- http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/buy/ and Follow the Instructions for Locating the Proper Manual and Ordering it. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Example: 80202-0413. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. To Start the Engine; 1- Pull the Choke Out. On Some Models this is Performed with the Throttle Cable and On Other Models it is Performed Manually. Remove the Air Filter Unit and Look at the carburetor. you will See a Flat Ear at the End of the Carburetor Away from the Engine. Pull this Out. Try to Start the Engine. When the Engine Catches and Tries to Start, Push the Choke IN. Start the Engine. You May have to Push the Choke In Half Way to Get the Engine to Run Until the Engine is Warm and Then Push the Choke Completely Into the End of the Carburetor. Once you have Seen and Operated the Choke Manually a Few Times, then Re-Install the Air Filter Unit. You can Pull the Choke Out by Reaching Under the Air Filter and Pulling the Choke Out and Leave the Air Filter in Place. If this Unit has Set for Over 6 Months, then the carburetor May Require Cleaning. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
