Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ariens with a kohler, spec numbers, lawn tractor

is there a direct replacement engine for an ariens gt 18 lawn tractor with a k361 engine.everyone wants me to repower or replace the engine and no one wants to work on it.most state that they are a junk motor.

Kohler is Usually a Very Good Engine and I have Not Heard of Any Complaints About the K361 Engine. Kohler Suggest that you Replace the Short Block (Miniblock) and Does Not List a Full Engine Replacement for this Engine. What is Wrong with this Engine? What is it Doing? I May be Able to Assist you in Locating and Correcting the Problem. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model and Spec Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View.
