Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): chain saw oil pump replacement, rubber grommet, wire spring

Question
Hi, John. Hope you can help.  I've got a Sears 18" chain saw model # 358 350080 that seems to need an oil pump. Saw has worked fine for a # of years and suddenly no oil comes thru.
So... I've drained the oil, looked in and saw the small hose with wire spring on end, but I can't figure how to get this assembly out!  I've looked at the Sears diagrm and it doesn't really tell me much. Thanks if you can explain this to me. Bob

Answer
Hello Bob:

The Saw has to be Disassembled to Replace the Oil Pickup Assembly. Are you Sure the Oiler Port is Not Clogged? Use a Straight Pin and Clean the Oiler Port. If it is Clear, then the Oiler May have to be Replaced. The Pickup Assembly should have a Rubber Grommet that Seals the Tube Into the Tank. This is Usually seen when the Saw is Being Disassembled. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
