Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): model number, spec numbers, specification numbers

I did a search on google and this site came up b/c what i am searching for is a model number etc. to order parts for my dads tiller. He has a 3HP tro bilt tiller. Has the H30 on the engine. I have other numbers but not the model or serial b/c weather has stripped it off. Can you help me with this?

The H30 is a Tecumseh Model Number. There are Usually 4 or 5 Numbers that Follow this Model Number. They are the Specification Numbers. This is Usued for Identifing what Equipment the Engine is Mounted on and Special Carburetor and Other Special Components that Pertain to the Equipment Itself. Usually for the Common Parts you can Use the H30 Model Number. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers (H30). Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing. Any H30 File should be Good for Common Parts. For Internal Components you Really need the Spec Numbers.
