Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 1968 Allis Chalmers B112 wont start, rotary corp, allis chalmers

Question
Problem is narrowed down to contacts and spark plug. I have replaced spark plug, and will try to replace the contacts, but I know I screwed up the gap. How do I set the gap? this is and old single cylinder Briggs model 300421. Also is there a way to replace the points with electric? I don't want to need to do this again.

Thanks

D.

Answer
Hello David:

Place your Index Finger on the Point Set Plunger. When you Feel it come All the Way Out, then Stop Turning the Engine and and Set the Point Set Gap to .020in. On Some of these Engines you can Substitute the Point Set for an Ign Module. The Module is Sold Aftermarket by Rotary Corp and Most Small Engine Service Centers Deal with Rotary. It is Simple to Imstall and the Instructions are Very Clear. The Module Number is Rotary #8786 (Nova ll Solid State Ign Module). If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
