Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh HM 100 wiring, voltage wire, key switch

Wiring out of motor has red and green leads. Which do I hook to the key switch to charge the battery? TIA.

Hello Kevin:

Use a Voltmeter and Select the Wire with the Hightest DC Voltage. The Color Coded Wires Change Color from Time to Time, so the Wire Color can Not be Trusted but the Voltage Does Not Lie. The Lower Voltage Wire is Used for the Headlights if the Unit has Any. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you.
