Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmower RPM, briggs and stratton, tiny tach

Question
Eric, I have both a 1. 2 cylinder OHV 25 hp Kohler command pro engine and 2. A one cylinder Briggs and stratton 124T02 650 series quantum engine on two different lawnmowers .
Is the Tiny Tach 2cr adequate for measuring the RPM on both these engines?

Thanks

Answer
I am not famailar with the 2cr and Tiny Tach usually refers to their devices as 2c,1c, and 4c.  The 2C model is fine for you application.
The 1C is for cylinders firing 2x per revolution (2 cylinder personal watercraft such as Seadoos typically fire this way.  4C models are for cylinders firing every other revolution (typically K series Kohler engines), older engines with points and condensor.

All the engines you have contain elctronic ignition so the 2C will work fine.
Let me know if this helps.
Eric
