Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite 20 corded electric mower, multimeter, rectifier

Question
Hello,
I was in the midst of mowing when my mower motor ran down (as if batteries finally gave out)and will not restart at all. No noise, no nothing. There is power from the plug to the handle switch, from the switch down the cord to the small block where all the wires meet, and from there I don't know where to go....Is there a reset? How can I test further?
TIA,
Alan

Answer
With the power removed, can you turn the blade by hand?  On the motor, is there a square looking module with four posts/electical connections?  If so, this is the rectifier.  The rectifier may be bad.  I am assuming you have a multimeter to test for power.  Is this correct?
