Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Yard Machine 8hp snowthrower wont start, gas cap, couple minutes

Question
My snowthrower will start, but after a couple minutes just dies.  It is brand new and when starting it the first time it worked great.  Now trying to use it a month later it won't stay on.  Is there something we're not doing right?  Thank you

Answer
Hello Jessica:

From your Description it Sounds like; 1- Gas Cap Not Venting the Tank. 2- Carburetor Float Sticking and Not Allowing Gas Into the Carburetor Bowl Correctly. Lightly Tap on the Side of the Carburetor. Usually this Causes the Float to Drop. If the Problem Continues, then have the Carburetor Cleaned. I Suggest you Try the Tapping on the Carburetor and Check the Gas Cap. If Both of these are Good and this is a New Machine, then Return it and have it Repaired Under Warranty or Get a New Machine. It is Rare for a Carburetor to Cause Problems on New Machines, but it Does Happen. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
