Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda harmony hrb215, honda hrb, air mixture

Question
My Honda HRB 215 starts fine & runs great for a minute or two then cuts out & dies. It will start again easily with the same results. I have removed the carb, internal jet, & plug, soaked for several days in carb cleaner, reinstalled with same results. I cleaned out the tank & put in fresh gas. Tried with & without airfilter. Same results.
Another side question: There is a small screw adustment on the front of the carb. It only moves about 1/8 turn due to stops built into the carb body. Do you know what this is for?

Answer
Hello Chuck:

Check the gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. Check the Float and Make Sure it has the Needle Valve Correctly Attached to it. It the Needle Valve is Not Slipped Into the Float Properly; the Carburetor Bowl will Not Get Enough Gas to Run the Engine More than 2 or 3 Minutes and then the Engine Quits. The Screw in Question is the Idle Air Mixture Screw and Should Not be the Cause of this Problem. If it has the Plastic Stop Cap, then Break the Stop Cap Off and Turn the Screw Clockwise Until Seated. **DO NOT JAM** Reverse Rotation of the Screw 11/2 Turns. Start the Engine and Adjust if Required so the Engine Revs from Idle to Full Throttle without Hesitation. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Select Lawn Mower. Now Scroll to your Mower and Select. If the Carburetor is Clean; you May want to Check the Ign Module/Coil Next. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
