Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 320 Snow Thrower, john deere dealer, old john deere

Question
I have an old John Deere 320 snow thrower. On JD's online parts manual they show the spark plug as an "AN1640T". My John Deere dealer said that was an old part number and came up with "AM39011". They then cross-referenced that to "RN11CY4". The RN11CY4 is a deep plug and the piston bottoms on it so that you cannot crank the engine. The plug I had in it was a Champion RJ19LM. I'd like to know just what is the correct plug and gap. I rebuilt the carb last year and had to disassemble it again this year just to get it started, but cannot get it to properly 2-cycle.

Answer
Hello John:

The RJ19LM is a Satisfactory Plug for this Engine. A CJ8 is a Good Plug Also. The Gap is .030in. You May Need to Soak and Clen the Carburetor to Correct the Carburetor Issue. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
