Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kolhler engine, crankshaft, camshaft

Question
I was wonder if you could tell me how the cam and crankshaft tick marks line up or send me a pic or website on a CV490s-27508?
I am putting a set of rings in it and tonight when I was taking it apart I pulled the camshaft out not thinking to mark it first.
Thanks Randy

P.S. Just in case you need to fax it you can fax it to 205-339-2415

Answer
Hello Randy:

There is Usually a Mark on the Crankshaft Gearand a Dot(or a Mark) on the Cam. The Cam and Crankshaft are Timed when these 2 Marks are Lined Up Upon Assembly. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Catalog you Wish to View. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
