Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): EDGER, briggs and straton, dirty air

My briggs and straton motor on my edger starts but it will rev up load and rev down low. It will not stay at a steady idle.

Hi Raul,

Engines that surging, or run unevenly can be the result of Fuel Cap vent clogged, a dirty carb, dirty air filter, carb not properly adjusted, Governor sticking. binding or improper RPM setting, Carburetor linkage shafts sticking or binding, Incorrect spark plug or Intermittent spark, check ignition.

Try to run through these checks.
