Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Go kart carb, briggs stratton, sams club

Question
I have a go kart with a carb that is in need of repair.one of the small pieces needle like pieces was damaged during the cleaning process. Its the part that attaches to the float.  Unfortunatly it is a carb with no manufacturer support(Sams Club). Is it possible to swap out the carb with one of another manufacturer or might there be someone somewhere who could rebuild this one. Thanks for your input.

Answer
Dear Brian Deal,

Well... this is a bit of a tough one.  If you can find a serial no., and or model no. on the engine that would help.  If not then it's a bit of a crap shoot as to the proper parts to use. The only way to deal with this would be to take the broken part and the useable parts from the carb in to a small engine shop and they may be able to identify what make/model of engine it is from.
Generally speaking, if you are rebuilding a tecumseh carb., then a Briggs + Stratton replacement needle will not be useful to you.
