Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman snowthrower 3 hp model # 53688520000, oil drain plug, craftsman snowthrower

Question
How do I change the oil?  Do I have to remove the entire engine to do this?  Thanks for your help?

Answer
The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the engine. I would not remove the engine.  I would recommend purchasing a drill motor operated oil changer or if you have several small engine powered equipment the MityVac fluid transfer tool works well.  Refer to this site:

This is what we use at the shop.  We run the engine to warm the oil.  Once warm, turn the engine off, tilt it slightly, remove the dip stick, insert the tube from the tool and suck out the oil.  Works very well and is quite fast.  Much eaiser than removing the drain plug.
Let me know if this helps.
