Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): toro 826 leaks gas, crankcase oil, assembly drawings

Question
hi and thanks in advance..i have a toro 826 that leaks gas while standing idle not running..i have just replaced the carb and am baffled.the gas is coming from inside the intake tube and ends up pooling in the intake warming pipe same as with the old carb.thank you

Answer
Hello Howard:

This Problem is Caused by the Carburetor Float Needle Valve Not Seating Properly and Allowing the Gas to Leak By the Needle Valve and Flood the Cylinder of the Engine. Usually the Crankcase Oil Becomes Contaminated and Requires Changing. Even the New Carburetors are Having this Problem. I have Rebuilt and Even Replaced Carburetors with this Problem. I have Found the ONLY Sure way Cure this Problem is to Install a Manual Cut Off Valve in the Gas Line and Manually Turn Off the Gas Flow to the Carburetor When the Engine is Not in Use. As Long as the Leaking Needle Valve is Not Interfering with the Normal Engine Operation, this will Solve this Problem for Good. Even Rebuilt Carburetors seem to have this Problem Occur After 3 or 4 Months and the Cut Off Valve has to be Installed. This has Become a Common Problem with All the OEMs Carburetors. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers. Now Select View Assembly Drawings. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
