Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sears gt 5000 lower deck wont turn on, ohmmeter, lower deck

Hello
 My wife was out cleaning leaves in the yard and I guess the lower deck turned off and the blades won't turn on. I checked the wiring but found nothing loose. Where should I check next? Are there electrical schematics available on line for this tractor?

Hello Manny:

Usually the PTO Ground is the Cause of this Problem. Locate and Clean the PTO Ground Connection. If you have an Ohmmeter, Disconnect the Wiring Harness from the Front of the Clutch and Check the Resistance of the Clutch. You should have around 4 or 5 OHMs. If at or near Zero, the Coil has Shorted. Go to this Site Addy, http://www3.sears.com/ and Enter the Model Numbers (examples: 143.XXXXXX, 532.XXXXXX, ect) in the Upper Left Search Box and Click Go. Then Visually Verify the Equipment and Click Continue. From this Page you can View Diagrams or Parts Lists for you Equipment.
