Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Power shift snowblower, woodruff key, assembly drawings

Question
I have an 03 Toro Power Shift snowblower #38547 ser#23001068 with an
optional differential. My problems are 1). hard shifting into & out of "power shift"
mode and 2) differential not locking into 2 wheel drive. I have the service manual
for it, but it fails to say anything about how to get the differential to lock.
Thank you.

Answer
Hello Jerry:

1- The Shift Cables May Require Lubricating or Replacing. Lubricate the Shift Cables and All the Mechanical Connections. 2- The Differential is Auto Locking. The Woodruff Key that Locks Each Axle to the Differential so the Axle will Turn May have Sheared. There is One on Each Axle. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers. Now Select View Assembly Drawings. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
