QUESTION: Hi I have been talking with you about my moms 1998 Chevy Camaro z28 convertable 5.7L 350 motor. I looked at it last night. You are a life saver. Her passenger side valve cover is leaking towards the back. It looks wet back their. Her driver side looks fine. Do they make a valve cover sealer. Like I know bars makes head gasket sealer. I know it is only a tempory fix. I might just break down and buy the valve cover gaskets. They are 19.99 at autozone. How hard is it to replace them. If I do the passenger side I might as well change the driver side one to. These seals are the original ones. The driver side is clean clean I dont know why. Thanks.

BUT BEFORE YOU REPLACE THAT ONE, TRY SNUGGING UP THE HOLD DOWN BOLTS JUST A TOUCH. QUESTION: Hi I am sorry for not responding sooner. I am going to try to tighten the bolts. I went to autozone and for both valve cover gaskets they are 19.99 this includes the right and left. I can't catch a break I have another problem. I filled her car up completely with gas. When I got home the gas was down to 3/4 of a tank. When I shut it off and turned it back on it went back up to a full tank of gas. What could this be.

ANSWER: HI JAMES BOND,,,PRICE FOR VALVE COVERS IS FAIR..THE GAS GAUGE COULD BE A COUPLE THINGS. THE TANK UNIT IS FAILING OR THE GAUGE IS CONTAMINATED WITH RESIDUE FROM THE FUEL.. GET YOURSELF SOME TEX RON FUEL ADDITIVE AND ADD IT TO YOU TANK THE NEXT TANK FULL,, DO THIS 2 TIMES.. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK THE FUEL GAUGE IN THE TANK IS MORE THEN LIKELY GOING BAD..THE ADDITIVE WILL CLEAN THE FUEL SENDING UNIT..READ THE LABEL ON THE CAN..I USE THIS EVERY TANK FILL IN MY VETTE..IT SITS ALOT AND THE GAUGE WAS ALWAYS ACING UP. THIS STUFF WORKS,,HONEST..IT IS NOT SNAKE OIL....

QUESTION: Hey I wanted to update you on my dads 2006 Chevy SSR. The dealer went through all the testings. They found out that their is something wrong with the electrical system. They don't know what is wrong with the electrical system. The gm computer went down so their hoping it comes back up tomorrow. Do you think this could be from the ignition switch. He saw vats codes in the system. Also is the accelerator pedal a part of the electrical system. Thanks.

HI AGAIN, IT COULD BE SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE IGN SWITCH,BUT THE DATA FLOW FROM THE PCM SHOULD TELL ALOT ON WHAT IS OR IS NOT GOING ON WITH THE SYSTEM. IF THE VOLTAGE IS DROPPING IT IS POSSIBLE IN THE SWITCH..ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAN DRIVE YOU NUTS BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS NOT ALWAYS THERE..IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR SHARE OF PROBLEMS. THE GO PEDAL IS CONTROLED BY THE PCM,IT RECIEVES A SIGNAL FROM THE PCM WHICH INTURN TELLS IT WHERE THE THROTTLE IS TO ADJUST THE THROTTLE PLATE AT THE INTAKE RUNNER.. IT IS LIKE A RE-OSTAT ...
