Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Blower/Vac, carburetor body, adjustment screws

Question
This is a resubmission of a question I sent in on 11/7.  I have a 25cc, 200 mph Craftsman blower/vac, model 358.797170 that has recently started leaking gas.  It, also starts to cut out when it is pointed down, as when vacuuming, but revs back up when brought to a horizontal position.  I took the air filter cover off and the inside, as well as the filter was wet with gas.  I'm wondering if this is something a rank amateur, such as myself, can deal with, or whether I have another piece of throw away equipment.  It has already been rebuilt once when it was under warranty.

Answer
Hello Bill:

The Problem is the Carburetor or the Fuel Filter is Dropping Out of the Gas when Tilted at an Angle. I Suggest you First Check the Fuel Filter and Make Sure it is Free to Move Inside the Tank. Second,  Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I Use Gunk). I have Found that Most People can Use a Breakdown/IPL and Disassemble the Carburetor Enough for Proper Cleaning. You Only have to Remove the Bowl, Float Pin, Float (if Applicable)  and Needle Valve and Any Adjustment Screws that Go Into the Carburetor Body. The Welch Plugs Do Not have to be Removed. Then Soak the Carburetor Body and Parts in a 1 Gallon Can of Gunk Carburetor Cleaner Overnight. The Can has a Parts Tray Inside it for the Small Parts. Once the Carburetor and Parts are in the Cleaner, you can Replace the Lid for Safety and to Prevent Accidental Spillage. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Parts if Required. Make Sure the Pulse Pump Needle is Seating Correctly. I Require the OEM (Walbro, Zama, ect) and the Model Numbers Off the Carburetor. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Carburetor and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
