Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower deck paint, grass clippings, mower decks

Hi. I purchased a new Cub Cadet this spring and i removed the deck to clean the grass from under the deck and noticed paint worn off and chipped off.Should i coat it with oil,wd 40 or paint it to help protect it? thanks,Phil

Hello Phil:

I Clean the Dirt, Grass Clippings and Other Debris from the Mower Decks Daily with Compressed Air and During the Off Season I have the Decks Cleaned of Rust and Repaint the Whole Deck. This Helps Prevent Rust from Eating Holes in the Metal and the Decks Last Longer. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps.
