Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Coil, poulan chainsaw, spark tester

I have a 2150 Poulan chainsaw ,I can't get no spark from plug wire,how can I check the coil,I have it off the saw.Thanks

The best method to check the the coil is to dis-connect the small wire connected to the coil.  With the wire dis-connected, remove the spark plug and use an inline spark tester.  With the spark tester in place, pull the string and check for spark.

You can usually just ground the spark plug instead of purchasing an inline spark tester.
