hi! Eric i have a briggs and stratton 5hp model#130202 well when i put it on choke it runs and when i put it to run it idles for 10 seconds and dies also when it idles at run if i try to push the gas it dies instantly i get good compression and good spark on my motor i noticed that the gas tank smokes white fumes is that a problem?it only runs with carb cleaner sprayed in it what do you think?

Have you removed, dis-assembled and cleaned the carburetor?  This is the most common problem and normally fixes the problem you are having.

How old is the engine?  You can tell by the first two digits of the code number...that is the year the engine was built.
Send me the type and code number so I can look up your engine to see if there is anything unique with it.
